Los Gigantes means 'The Giants' and is named after the huge cliffs here. Apart from being truly majestic, they also give the town at their feet, shelter from the trade winds. This means that Los Gigantes often has the sunniest and warmest weather on the island.
These days, Los Gigantes is a packed holiday destination, with hotels and apartments clinging to the steep hillside, jostling for space. This is not the place to go if you'd rather not walk up hill!
However, it is a great spot for boat trips - to the neighbouring island of La Gomera, to look for dolphins and whales, to visit the beautiful area of Masca, or simply to enjoy being on the water.
You can hire boats yourself or join a guided trip here. There are also many companies offering diving at this resort.
