Guide and Virtual Tour of Tenerife: Mount Teide National Park - Tenerife, Volcanic landscape, Canary Islands.
Panorama | Review | Map
This panorama is of Mount Teide rising to 3718 metres above sea level, from the Caldera Canadas. The Calderas are large flat area where gritty deposits from the erosion of the slopes above end up. In the past, they provided pastures for farming. They can flood in wet weather.
The only way to reach the summit of the mountain is to either walk up (!) or use the cable car - but be warned: you are at altitude on this summit. Expect to feel its effects - any exertion will be difficult and you may feel sick, dizzy and have a headache. The views are good though...
